...And a partridge in a pear tree...

The clock strikes midnight, and my 12 Days of Christmas giveaway has ended!
Courtesy of Mr. Random, the last winner for the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink bundle is:
Congratulations, ga447! Looks like you have a few more scraps to play with now.
I've sent you an email for your mailing address.

My plan is to take a trip to the post office on Monday, so if you are one of the winners, start watching for your package sometime next week (well, except you international winners; I'm thinking yours will take a little longer).

Thanks to everyone as well for satisfying my curiosity about why you entered which color day giveaways, etc. I loved reading everyone's comments these past 12 days, getting to know you a bit better. I  am flattered that you all visit here as frequently as you do--please keep coming around to see what I have to share (including a stocking tutorial this weekend)!

Day 12: Everything but the kitchen sink (and cream/beige winner!)

It's the last day of the 12 Days of Christmas giveaway! I hope you've had fun seeing the results of my thinned out stash and reading everyone's comments even if you weren't/aren't one of the 12 winners. I know I've had fun!

The winner of the cream/beige bundle is:
Congrats, Abbigail! I've sent you an email

I've been calling this last group the black/white/multicolored bundle, but I might as well call it "everything but the kitchen sink" instead. It started as blacks and whites, and then sort of ended up as the home for whatever was left that was leaving me feeling indecisive.

To enter to win the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink bundle, please leave a comment to satisfy my idle curiosity: I didn't have the same number of comments every day of this contest, so you didn't all enter to win every bundle. Did you only comment on certain colors that you really wanted? Or some days you just didn't make it online? Or....? Just wondering!  The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 13th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow and then we'll be done.
Good luck!

Day 11: Cream/beige giveaway and brown winner!

It's the second last day of my stash busting giveaway!

First, the brown winner:

Congratulations, Giddy99! I've sent you an email to get your mailing address.

And here is the cream/beige group:

To enter to win the cream/beige bundle, simply leave a comment telling me when and why you first started sewing. The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 12th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the black/white/multi bundle photo and question.
Good luck!

Day 10: Brown giveaway and purple winner

A brown giveaway just sounds so blah, doesn't it? But brown gets a bad rap. Really, the color has so many shades and possibilities, and I'd love to see what you do with these fabrics! (Plus, it's the color of chocolate--that makes it a winner right there!)

But first, before we all get distracted with thoughts of chocolate, here's the purple winner:
Congrats Terry! I am emailing you for your mailing address.
Okay, back to chocolate...um, I mean brown.

To enter to win the brown bundle, simply leave a comment telling me about a traditional holiday dinner in your family (doesn't necessarily have to be Christmas).

Not necessarily my favorite, although it is better than it maybe sounds, but my family's traditional Christmas Eve dinner at my Grandma's house was ham loaf. Yup, like meatloaf but made with ground ham. With cloves stuck in it for added flavor. And frequently sporting a side dish of jello with fruit in it. One time it had carrots, which turned me off of jello with anything suspended in it, but that's a different story.
The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 11th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the cream bundle photo and question. This giveaway is now closed. Click here for the cream/brown giveaway.

Good luck!

Day 9: Purple giveaway and dark blue winner!

...And this is post #100, although since the last week's worth of posts have been all about giveaways, I almost feel like that's cheating!

First, the winner of the dark blue bundle is:
Vicki B, who said, "My favorite Christmas movie is "Borrowed Hearts" with Roma Downey." Which I admit, is a movie I've never heard of. I'll have to check it out! Congrats, Vicki! I've sent you an email.

Before I cleaned out my fabric, if you'd asked what colors I had the least of in my stash, I would have said orange, yellow and purple.
I was right about orange and yellow, but apparently not about purple.

To enter to win the purple bundle, simply leave a comment telling me what the #1 thing is that draws you back to a quilting blog (gorgeous images, witty writing, tutorials, free stuff, etc.). The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 10th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the brown bundle photo and question.
Good luck!

p.p.s. Did you notice my numbered comments? Thank you so much, Marelize, for the link you sent...no more counting for me!

Day 8: Dark blue giveaway and light blue winner

It's day two of the blues!
First, here's the light blue winner:
Kathy MacKie, who said, "I really do need more blue fabric in my stash!" Well, there's some blue heading your way after the giveaway ends!
Kathy, I've sent you an email.

Here's the dark blue pile for today's giveaway:
Okay, so maybe there are still a decent amount of lighter blues in it, but I had to divide up the piles somewhere!

While I write this post, my husband and I are watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, my favorite holiday movie. It's one of those extremely quotable movies that I've seen a bazillion times, and it just gets me in the holiday spirit! (White Christmas is another great choice, but more classic than humorous...) To enter to win the dark blue bundle, simply leave a comment telling me what your favorite holiday movie is. The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 9th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the purple bundle photo and question. This giveaway is now closed. Click here for the link to the purple giveaway.
Good luck!

Day 7: Light blue giveaway and dark green winner

Goodbye, dark greens, hello light blues! If your weather has been anything like mine lately, a peek of blue sky would be a nice change. If it's going to be this gray and dreary, can we at least get some snow?!?!

First off, random number generator chose:
Marelize Ries, who said: "Oh there's no question about this one, it was this year on MY birthday, when my husband gave me both my sewing machine and over-locker, both Bernina... which I think he might regret a little, LOL, since then every spare sent we have I spend on fabric, he he he"

Um, can we come over to your house to play with your machines?!?! Congratulations! I'll be emailing you for your mailing address.

The light blue pile is what you might call over the top, quantity-wise. Rivaled only by Sunday's giveaway, the dark blue pile.
Whew! I guess I like blues.

It was so nice of so many of you to leave birthday wishes for my sister on Friday's post!

To enter to win the light blue bundle, simply leave a comment telling me what color you wish you had more of in your stash. The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 8th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the dark blue bundle photo and question. This giveaway is now closed. Click here to see the dark blue giveaway.
Good luck!

Day 6: dark green giveaway and light green winner

We're halfway through!

First, the light green winner:
Lori, who said: "I'd like to not have to use my sewing room as guest room too. Without the full size bed I'd have a lot more room to work."

Congratulations, Lori! I've sent you an email to get your mailing address.

Now, onto the dark green. Here we go:

As you may have guessed by the fact that there are 2 green and 2 blue giveaways, my color preference tends to learn toward those two colors. :)

Today is my sister's birthday (Hi Jenn!). In honor of her big day, to enter to win the dark green bundle, simply leave a comment telling me about the best birthday gift you've either given or received. The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 7th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the light blue bundle photo and question. This giveaway is now closed. Click here for the next giveaway, the light blue bundle.
Good luck!

Day 5: Light Green Giveaway and Yellow Winner

Today is light green day! I'll be back later on to pick and post the yellow winner (actually, today is my day to volunteer at preschool, so "morning" may be more like lunchtime...we'll see!).

But first, the yellow bundle winner!
Mr. Random made it easy on me today, since I haven't had a chance to check out Marelize's link to fix my numbering issue. The winner is Crickets Corner, who said: "That was last year on Christmas Eve. At about 10 in the morning I decided to make my sister a reversable apron for our Christmas Eve gift opening. She loved it!"

In light of the question it seems appropriate that the winner should be someone who was very last minute last year!
Crickets Corner, I've sent you an email to get your mailing address.

Here is the light green bundle. Truly an eclectic mix!

To enter to win it, simply leave a comment telling me the one thing you'd LOVE to have for your sewing room/space. The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 6th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the dark green bundle photo and question. This giveaway is now closed. Click here to enter the dark green giveaway.
Good luck!

By the way, I usually try to respond to every comment I receive, because I love receiving them. It's wonderful to know I'm not doing all this writing and picture taking just for myself! But, there are ALOT of comments (which is great) because of these giveaways, and I have ALOT on my Christmas to-do list, so I have decided not to reply individually to the contest entry comments. But I am definitely still reading them, and really enjoying all of the different responses! All of you who are already done (December 5th!) with your holiday sewing, I'm impressed! Those of you who are still sewing an hour before the gift exchange, I feel your pain/determination. You can do it! :) And to those who have wrapped up a quilt top with an IOU note attached, I've been there, done that.

Day 4: Yellow Giveaway and Orange Winner

Hello, Sunshine! That's right, it's yellow giveaway day!

But first, the orange winner, thanks to the random number generator (who seems to be randomly liking higher numbers so far...I think it knows that my comment counting feature isn't working!):

B Greene, who said: "My favorite holiday tradition is travelling to be with the extended family - nothing like time together!"

Congrats Becky! I have sent you an email for your mailing address, and when all 12 days are done, I'll send out your orange fabrics.

Here is today's yellow bundle of scraps:

To enter to win it, simply leave a comment telling me the latest that you've ever finished a homemade holiday gift. The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 5th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the light green bundle photo and question. This giveaway is now closed. Click here for today's light green giveaway.
Good luck!

Though not as day-glo orange as the photo appears!

Pam, I've emailed you for your address, and after all 12 days are done, I'll send out your fabric.
