Peacock Plumes Virtual Blog Hop

Hello! It's my day on the Peacock Plumes Virtual Blog Hop, and I'm excited to share how Tammy's fabric collection looks in a few of my quilt patterns.

These Island Batik fabrics have such a fun fall vibe--perfect for the season.

I used the full collection in my On the Go quilt--pairing the batiks with white helps the colors to really pop!

Purchase the On the Go pattern here.

I'm a teal girl at heart, so I knew I wanted to use a limited color palette of mostly teals in one design. Here's Ribbon Weave, a wall hanging/table topper, in all its teal glory.

Purchase the Ribbon Weave pattern here.

Swirls, anyone? The That's a Swirl applique quilt is packed with design appeal, and pairing the batiks with solid black enhances the contrast. This quilt is all about the cutting--the only piecing is sewing the blocks together. Fusible web does the rest.

Purchase the That's a Swirl quilt pattern here.

When I first saw Tammy's Peacock Plumes fabric, I knew immediately that I wanted to audition them in my Frequency quilt pattern. I had so much fun, I couldn't decide which to share, so I'm showing them all to you!

Ribbon Weave Wreath + 25% Sale

When I first designed my Ribbon Weave quilt, I knew I wanted to make a Christmas version because it looks like a holiday wreath. This week, it happened! I love the crisp modern look these colors create and can't wait to hang it up. (And I couldn't resist cutting some holly from the bush outside our home!)

The Ribbon Weave pattern is on sale in my Etsy shop: 25%. Use code WREATH25.

I used Windham's Uncorked collection by Another Point of View in Candy Apple, Blue Spruce and Sea Glass. I love the texture and the metallic gold accents. For background, I chose a white tonal with a little texture of its own--Windham's Bedrock in White.

To quilt this wall hanging, I used one of the decorative stitches on my Janome, bumped up to the largest size possible. I really like the scalloped look.

The Ribbon Weave pattern is on sale through 25% off through Monday, December 9th. Purchase the digital pattern here and use code WREATH25.

Want to see other versions of my Ribbon Weave quilt? Read about the Gloaming version here and the Everlasting version here.

Everlasting Blog Tour - Ribbon Weave Quilt

When my friend Sharon Holland asked me to be part of her Everlasting Blog Tour promoting her Everlasting fabric collection from Art Gallery Fabrics, of course I said yes!

I've known Sharon for seven years, and she's the reason I started designing quilts--she taught me how to create diagrams (and quilt designs) in Illustrator when we both worked for a quilting magazine. (So thank you again, Sharon, for teaching me those skills!). If you don't already, I highly recommend following Sharon on  Instagram. Everything she posts has an artist's touch. You can follow me, too, here.

Here are all of Sharon's Everlasting prints:

I've got a huge soft spot for all things teal, so I immediately gravitated toward the teal and blue prints in the collection. And those bluebirds! Here are the fabrics I chose to use.

I used the Everlasting prints to sew my Ribbon Weave pattern. The original design started with a Snail's Trail block, believe it or not! I love the overlapping woven look the navy and teal prints create, but I think my favorite part of this quilt is the skinny print border.

This quilt measures 37" square--it's perfect for a wall hanging or a table topper. My boys happily drank those pink lemonades after I finished photographing this set up!

I really love the bluebird Summer's Dance print as the background in this quilt. The birds have a soft watercolor feel to them, and they're beautifully spaced across the fabric--it's so light and airy!

But my favorite print is the small floral on navy, called Flower Keeper. These flowers, leaves and vines are so delicate! I used this print in the center of each block, for the outer border, and for the binding.

One more beauty shot!

Make your own version of Ribbon Weave using Sharon's Everlasting prints! Purchase the pattern in my Etsy shop - save 10% during the Everlasting Blog Hop. Find Ribbon Weave here.

Thanks for stopping by today!
